This expansive rural landscape was designed for a contemporary architectural residence in Red Hill, on the Mornington Peninsula. Low-lying gardens grace the foreground with colour and movement, without detracting from the vineyard and bay beyond. Elegantly appointed courtyards provide reprieve from coastal winds and create intimate outdoor spaces for the residents. The inclusion of a small, wet-edge spa in place of a large pool allows for year-round bathing with minimal maintenance. The landscape design seamlessly blends with the built form and coastal setting. Warm, sandy tones are maintained throughout the paving, polished concrete walkways, and crushed Dromana granite paths. A sloping rock garden at the entry emulates the rocky cliff faces found on the nearby coastline.
