Nathan Burkett
Landscape Architect & Director

An award-winning and qualified landscape architect, Nathan is known for his clean, crisp lines and artistic versatility, able to shift from classic, subtle styles right through to the more eclectic and cutting-edge.

Nathan acquired a degree in Landscape Architecture at RMIT in 2002, winning the RMIT Award for Design Excellence in his final year.

He founded Nathan Burkett Landscape Architecture in 2003 and, with his team, won Abode Magazine’s Garden of the Year Award the following year.

Today, Nathan is one of Australia’s most respected Landscape Architects, achieving Gold at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show with his installation ‘Equilibrium’.

Sorenne Eadie
Personal Assistant to Nathan

Sorenne provides invaluable support to Nathan and the team, taking care of appointments, managing schedules and freeing up time and energy so they can fully immerse themselves creatively in every project.

Sorenne plays a key role in keeping operations running and applying systems to increase efficiency across all areas of NBLA.

Ellie Grammelsberger
Associate Director & Landscape Architect

An integral part of the team since 2016, Ellie holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from RMIT University. She loves to design and deliver gardens and outdoor spaces that reflect the values, tastes and interests of clients.

Combined with her strong creative mind, she plays a pivotal role in the daily operations of the NBLA studio, communicating regularly with clients to make sure their garden dreams come to fruition.

Darren Roach
Landscape Architect

With extensive experience in commercial Landscape Architecture, Darren blends creativity and precision in every project. He has successfully led numerous award-winning designs, from concept through to construction.

A skilled designer and adept project manager, Darren is dedicated to delivering each project to the highest standard. He takes pride in cultivating lasting client relationships and eagerly brings his passion and expertise to the NBLA team.

Justin Paolucci
Landscape Architect

Justin commenced at NBLA in 2022, bringing Fine Art and Landscape Architecture degrees and more than six years’ experience in environmental design.

As a Landscape Architect Justin acts as client liaison, transforming concept design into considered drawings for construction, planting and documentation. While he thrives on the unique complexities of individual projects, his overarching goal is always the same: “Connecting people to nature through the creation of beautiful outdoor spaces.”

Beatrice Whitworth
Landscape Architect

Beatrice holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Melbourne and has built her career working in various landscape architecture studios, specialising in exceptional planting design.

With a deep love of plants and a passion for construction details, Beatrice brings a thoughtful and meticulous approach to every project. Her work is rooted in skilfully adapting landscapes to harmonise client needs with the character of the location, resulting in unique, meaningful, and site-sensitive designs.

Mitchell Brouwer

Having joined NBLA in early 2021, Mitchell brings a Bachelor of Architecture and a love of landscaping – in particular, “How a well-designed landscape has the potential to change one’s daily experience in a positive way”.

Central to Mitchell’s role is using plans and other reference materials to produce photorealistic 3D images of proposed designs.

Benjamin Tia

Graduating from University of Melbourne with a bachelor’s degree in Design, Benjamin brings the NBLA team’s landscape designs to life through photo-realistic renders.

He joined NBLA in 2022 armed with a simple and passioned view of landscaping: “It’s what makes the whole building feel completed and come alive.”

Rick Calabrese
Chief Operating Officer

A qualified Civil Engineer and registered Project Manager, Rick boasts a long career in senior management across a range of industries.

Having joined NBLA as Chief Operations Officer in 2021, Rick oversees company operations including quality control, risk management, goal setting, strategising, fostering company culture and assisting our director Nathan Burkett on a range of other business activities.

Amy Kaa
Marketing Manager

A seasoned marketing and communications professional, Amy brings extensive experience working in a large global organisation and as a self-employed consultant for small to medium-sized businesses.
 
Amy joined NBLA as Marketing Manager in late 2022, overseeing the company’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives, including website management, social media, seasonal updates, PR, media relations, award submissions, content creation, and brand management.
