FEATURED PROJECT | Toorak Garden

Set on 1404m2 of prime real estate in exclusive Toorak, sits a white brick c1890s Victorian residence enveloped by a lush enchanting garden. After a full season of growth, this landscape is now coming into its own, captivating passersby.

NBLA designed the garden for the founding owners of WHITEFOX Realestate, Charlotte and Marty Fox and their family in 2022. Well-versed in the art of real estate, Marty and Charlotte appreciate the difference a beautiful garden makes to the value of a property.

When the Fox’s engaged NBLA for their landscape design, Charlotte expressed her love of flowers and requested some ‘colour’ in the garden. NBLA worked to ensure that seasonal interest was integrated throughout the design.

NBLA fulfilled the brief with an entry of floating concrete steps flanked by silver birches leading to an ornate driveway of Italian porphyry crazy paving and a filetti pathway to the front porch. The beautifully crafted driveway is a statement piece of muted pinks and maroons, a theme that carries through the home’s interior.

The plantings comprise a curated mix of Buxus balls, Arthropodium, Hellebores, Ligularia and Oakleaf Hydrangeas. The Salvias and Liriopes provide vertical colour accents when in bloom. Varying shapes and textures define this garden, delivering interest year-round.

NBLA is now embarking on the second stage of this project, designing a backyard with just as much grace and personality as the family that resides in it.
