An award-winning and qualified landscape architect, Nathan is known for his clean, crisp lines and artistic versatility, able to shift from classic, subtle styles right through to the more eclectic and cutting-edge.

Nathan acquired a degree in Landscape Architecture at RMIT in 2002, winning the RMIT Award for Design Excellence in his final year.

He founded Nathan Burkett Landscape Architecture in 2003 and, with his team, won Abode Magazine’s Garden of the Year Award the following year.

Today, Nathan is one of Australia’s most respected Landscape Architects, achieving Gold at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show with his installation ‘Equilibrium’.

An integral part of the team since 2016, Ellie holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from RMIT University. She loves to design and deliver gardens and outdoor spaces that reflect the values, tastes and interests of clients.

Combined with her strong creative mind, she plays a pivotal role in the daily operations of the NBLA studio, communicating regularly with clients to make sure their garden dreams come to fruition.

Justin commenced at NBLA in 2022, bringing Fine Art and Landscape Architecture degrees and more than six years’ experience in environmental design.

As a Landscape Architect Justin acts as client liaison, transforming concept design into considered drawings for construction, planting and documentation. While he thrives on the unique complexities of individual projects, his overarching goal is always the same: “Connecting people to nature through the creation of beautiful outdoor spaces.”

Louise brings over 15 years’ experience in architecture and design, including eight years specialising in landscape architecture, supported by a Bachelor of Environmental Design.

Louise enjoys working across the full lifecycle of a project, collaborating closely with clients and consultants to deliver considered, enduring outcomes. She is particularly passionate about seeing landscapes grow and evolve over time, continuing to develop long after completion.

Huey holds a double degree in Architecture and Property and Construction, bringing creative design flair and practical construction know-how.

Skilled in transforming ideas into clear, buildable documentation that connects design with delivery.

Dylan joined NBLA in early 2026, holding a Master of Landscape Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington. He brings experience in business development, with strong client-facing and communication skills, along with a practical understanding of project delivery.

As a Landscape Architect, Dylan enjoys collaborating closely with clients and project teams to develop designs that respond to context and create elegant, high-quality outdoor environments.

Graduating from University of Melbourne with a bachelor’s degree in Design, Benjamin brings the NBLA team’s landscape designs to life through photo-realistic renders.

He joined NBLA in 2022 armed with a simple and passioned view of landscaping: “It’s what makes the whole building feel completed and come alive.”

A qualified Civil Engineer and registered Project Manager, Rick boasts a long career in senior management across a range of industries.

Having joined NBLA as Chief Operations Officer in 2021, Rick oversees company operations including quality control, risk management, goal setting, strategising, fostering company culture and assisting our director Nathan Burkett on a range of other business activities.

A marketing and communications professional, Amy holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) and brings broad experience across marketing, sales and corporate communications, gained within a global organisation and as a consultant to small and medium-sized businesses.

Amy joined NBLA as Marketing Manager in late 2022 and leads the studio’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives, including website management, social media, PR and media relations, award submissions, content creation and brand management. She enjoys the variety her role offers.

Aleks oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the business, managing cashflow, forecasting, reporting, and providing strategic advice to guide decision-making across the organisation. With a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and solid industry experience, Aleks brings strong attention to detail and a talent for streamlining processes to improve efficiency.

What Aleks enjoys most is collaborating with people across the business to support informed decisions and ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.

With a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and several years of site management experience, Greg brings a strong technical foundation to his role as Project Administrator at NBLA.

He plays a central role in client coordination and communication, ensuring information flows seamlessly between clients, contractors, and the design team. Greg’s work helps maintain clarity and alignment at every stage of a project, supporting both the creative process and the successful delivery of NBLA’s landscapes.
